Brazilian Waxing: Lessen The Pain

Waxing Petaluma, CABody waxing, specifically Brazilian Waxing, seems like it would be a very painful experience. Human beings are meant to have hair but we all continually try to conquer the beast, so to speak. No matter what you use to remove body hair, there are always some drawbacks to any type of hair removal. Razors leave nasty bumps and sometimes scars. Creams, which are just a mild hair relaxer, leave the skin a little irritated and sensitive. Epilators are just painful and laser hair removal is very costly. Be nice to your girl parts and give waxing a try. With a little knowledge and preparation, it will not be as bad as you think!

First thing first, if you have been shaving for a long time, it is ideal to let your hair grow out about ¼ inch or about a month of hair growth. Ideally, it would be best if you decide to do this in the winter months so you will not be tempted to shave. The hair to be waxed has to be smooth or the wax cannot grab it off of your skin so put that razor down. If you cheat, your waxing will not come out clean and you will be disappointed.

Second, try to schedule all waxing appointments right after your monthly cycle. If you attempt to get waxed right before the onset of your period, it will be much more painful: even seasoned waxing clients grimace a little during this time. Your first wax will hurt more than any other due to the unevenness of the skin found on intimate areas so you will want to soften the blow as much as you can.

Since the skin on this area of the body is usually over-shaved and very unhealthy, you need to begin exfoliating this area with a sugar scrub or a Loofha sponge. Wait until the first week of hair growth and then begin sloughing off the bad skin twice, weekly. Having an even skin surface prevents excess pulling and lessen the pain, which is a good thing. Keep this area moisturized with a fragrance free moisturizer to help repair the damaged and over shaved skin.

Another thing to consider as you are watching your hair grow out: keep yourself hydrated before you go to your appointment. If your skin is dehydrated, your body will actually try to absorb the water out of the wax and leave behind a very sticky residue that is very painful when it is pulled off.  Making sure your skin is in optimal condition before your first waxing appointment leads to an almost pain free waxing. You will never return to the blade ever again!
