6 Beauty Tips For Dry Skin

Do you have dry skin? It needs a lot of care because it is easily irritated, and can peel, crack, flake, itch and bleed – especially in the winter months. It is important to use the proper skin care to avoid dry skin. Here are six beauty tips to help:

1) Dry air, dry skin

Indoor air that’s dry can contribute to dry, cracking skin. Use an indoor humidifier to regulate the moisture in the air. You can also purchase a small gauge, known as a hygrometer, to ensure that humidity level is ideal for your skin. A level of 40 to 60 percent is the best range for your home.

2) Focus on bath habits that support skin moisture

Avoid using hot water and limit your shower to less than 10 minutes. Always use moisturizer after you shower, and use it within a couple of minutes – it is ideal for your pores to absorb the moisture.

3) Keep it natural

Discontinue using harsh soaps – use mild cleansers or even baby soaps. Consider natural skin care products like shea butter, coconut oil or other herbal oils. Shea butter contains Vitamins A and E that can help to improve skin conditions such as dry skin. Coconut oil is naturally antibacterial and antifungal, and it’s a great moisturizer.

4) A nutty idea

Almonds make a great facial mask to restore dry skin. Soak five almonds in water for several hours, remove the skin, mash, and mix with one tablespoon of milk and one tablespoon of organic, unsalted butter. Apply the paste and let it dry completely. Once it is dry, rinse off the paste. You’ll be amazed at how refreshed and moisturized your skill will feel!

5) Make your skin as sweet as you

You can use sugar to exfoliate dry skin. Just mix four teaspoons of organic sugar with warm milk, and apply to your skin. Once it is dry, clean it off with a warm washcloth.

6) Honey, your skin looks great

Use honey as a moisturizer. Place a small amount on a cotton ball and dab it on dry skin. Let the honey moisturize for seven minutes and clean. Your skin will be more moisturized and feel softer.
